Listening now, their debut was pretty great. New video & single are awesome. Nice write-up!

Musically this is amazing, but the lyrics are still so cringy…
"we can watch the stars, and when our toes touch, it will be like fireworks blowing up"
How is this any different than One Direction shit? it's like just because it's a different genre, suddenly these kinds of lyrics are acceptable. Nooope.

And am I the only one who has noticed that he sings practically the same two notes this entire album? Just goes back and forth between the root and the fifth with little variation. Oh well. It's emo and resembles American Football, so it's automatically a 4.5 right?

"What the fuck do people want from reviews?" [2]
It's pretty damned rude to fail to even acknowledge any of the criticism TheSupernatural brought up, especially when he was trying to help you grow as a writer
I stopped giving feedback on your reviews long ago, because it was clear how little you cared to hear it

Lyrics on Fourth of July are pretty cringe worthy. Not really seeing the improvement in lyrics personally but I've only listened to this once so far

Completely agree about the vocals..sounds like he's just reading the lyrics off a paper with little to no rhythm scheme to them which makes the vocals sound weak melodically. The production on their first LP was way better. Treb, a 4.5...REALLY??

Best twinkly guitar work since American Football. CMON!!! Brave Bird's LP takes the cake for that statement in my opinion!

This is really fun, definitely awesome twinkle daddy but in the end not very original. The intro riff of "always focused" is so damn close to the riff in "if i sit still..." by TTNG.
Not super hot on the Set Your Goals vocals either.
Great review nevertheless treb

picking a favorite song from this is so hard. sundress is probably my favorite overall but the rhythmic part in always focused is always stuck in my head, just like the "this boxcar was buried inside my head" part at the end of boxcar
|

Holy shit this sounds so good. This album sounds like just what I need right now
|

I'm glad someone said something about how terrible the lyrics from this band can be. Songs like Boxcar are almost entirely ruined for me by them. It's hard to get into an album that you don't respect because you can't stop laughing or cringing. That's always been my main problem with this band.

Every review you make either worships at the altar of a band, or mercilessly shit talks every aspect of their sound and the band members' mothers. This review is a huge step up from the one where you compared Dads' Pretty Good EP to Thrice, though.

Huh, some solid twinkle? Guess I gotta check.

These dudes just played a free hometown show in Fargo. They closed with Moving to Antarctica and their families were like jammin in the front row. Pretty awesome. Dylan is a wizard on guitar.
