His voice never really bothered me.

I hate both his vocal styles really, his screams have just no energy and clean are just bad to me.

I'm tempted to give this a 3 but that would imply that this is just as good as Sense of Purpose.
2.5 for me, which I guess is a little generous.

Anders is a complete joke these days. Some of the songs has potential but they are ruined by his god-awful vocals, they're unacceptable
Fun Fact: I bumped ASOP from 1.5 to 2 as soon as I finished listening to this album, since I realized that album actually had some few redeeming qualities. This does not.

A 2 for me, if it didn't have some enjoyable parts like the guitar work, then it would have been a 1.5 for me.

Opener is pretty good, I'm not digging that his vox are push to the forefront of the production, also those screams are worse that his older stuff (is it like that the entire album)

Yeah some parts of this were better than I expected but there were a few things that were worse than I expected.
@fallen, He mostly sings in this which in all honestly isn't that bad, but his screams are the worst.

Yeah, I don't like how his vocals are pushed so much to the front.

At least in SOAPF his vox were we're buried beneath the guitar, probs why he never bothered me so much.

Anyone who gives this above a 2 is high

Agreed. Those synth-driven verses with Anders whiny voice are so damn annoying it hurts my ears

Haha, well, I agree on that.
It only just manages to hit a 2 for me.

The thing is that it feels like they had about one idea for a song, yet they stretched it over 11 tracks and i think the band did this on purpose.
It also feels like the band is tired of creating music and didn't even have fun recording this.
So give me one fucking reason i should.

... So in short, you didn't like the vocals?
I can understand that someone's vocals can destroy an album for you, and since a lot of people are agreeing (though some might just be jumping on the bandwagon) with you you're probably making a solid point. However, personally I always kind of enjoyed Anders' singing. I mean, he's not a superb singer, but his angst and the fact that he is a little false at times actually adds something nice.
However, I am not arguing Siren Charms is a great album; not even a good one. For me, the vocals are fine, and I applaud the fact that they're shaking up things with the female feature on one track. What I can't get over is that the album feels very lazy. A handful of catchy choruses, electronic noises, decent riffs and some other ideas that could've made 4 or 5 great songs are spread out unto an album that feels rushed and where most songs seem like filler.
So yeah, I can usually (partially) get behind anything In Flames makes, but this time they've really dropped the ball. Plus the cover art is atrocious.

I complain a lot about the vocals but that's not the only thing; poor production, samey writing, underdeveloped songs, and predictable commercial styled songs.
I don't actually mind the cover art but eh XD
