I fucking love this CD. No, the production isn't the best, but c'mon—you're listening to death metal! There isn't a genre on earth more prone to shit production. Eight out of every ten major label metal albums sound like they were recorded in bomb shelters, and the ninth one actually *was*.

Metal deserves a lot better on average but this CD sounds fine by comparison to a third of my collection.

Is this kid for real? Maybe youre thinking of black metal as the genre with the shittiest production cause im sure anyone who actually listens to death metal can name about twenty bands with excellent production.

But anyway band is kinda bland yo

@VinVal: First, I'm not a kid. Period. Second, I phrased myself poorly in that I meant that all of
metal as a "grand" genre is prone to shit production. I have a ton of ambient black and raw black
metal in my collection, so I know all about black metal's track record with production.

My point stands: compare the production on your average jazz/R&B/bubble-gum pop or even country CD to
ninety percent of metal and you'll find that even quality metal bands frequently get shafted.
There's no excuse for albums like Chthonic's Bu-Tik or Mors Principium Est's And Death Said Live . .
. to sound as awful as they do when the music is so goddamned amazing. Hell, even Dark
Tranquillity's latest has faint and indistinct cymbals. :/

most albums have bad, brickwalled production, it just sounds worse for metal just because of how much the layered instrumentation benefits from actually being, you know, audible

It's an interesting listen through and through. Not quite what I was expecting though?

As for the production..... you guys who are hung up on THAT aspect alone can't even pretend to not have seen this coming. Nomadic was loud. Hell the first album was pretty up there.
