Dat final trilogy. You got Laguna Sunrise as a pretty little prelude to St. Vitus Dance, which sounds kinda like a fun little jam to me. For whatever reason it evokes a beach party in my head. Anyways, you hear those tracks, you think "Oh, so I guess they're getting softer", then BAM, that opening riff of Under the Sun comes in and it's the heaviest fucking thing this side of a bag filled with five tons of bricks. That's right, Under the Sun's heaviness is now quantifiable as over five tons.

this LP is beautiful. black sabbath with a california vibe..
and yeah from the crunchy as fuck main riff in wheels of confusion to the sweet jam of supernaut to the laguna beach inspired bon fire beach party track to the cosmic heaviness of under the sun, vol IV is a classic beyond classics
and that cover art is a cult in itself

Miss the author of this review. Prob the biggest Sabbath fan this site had.
Also, this rules. Love how this preceded so much of the prog metal we take for granted these days.
