Sables is so good, might even match this; I really like the lighter direction

Not as good as this. It’s an entirely different brand. But I still dig the change.

Selenelion and this are great but have some weird songwriting choices here and there that sound a little off to me, whereas Sables does away with that and sticks to a more consistent style while sounding just as unique and gorgeous. This probably has the most stunning moments of all 3, but I still need to jam Sables a few more times.

Just played it again today Talon. Album gets better song to song. Zwischen is really hard to pinpoint, very odd time signatures. The production is so fluid. Gonna review it?

I've only heard Sables once so far but yea I'd like to review, it's definitely my kind of music. Zwischen, The Lightless Ones, The Ruins, and Sables stood out to me most as highlights.

Sables is pretty great but I wish Josh Strawn had kept on with the amount of reverb he had here; not a huge fan of his voice on that album :[

His voice is still pretty echoey a lot of the time

It's nearly as good as this Hawks, requires a little more patience to appreciate since it's definitely subtler than Selenelion or this.

new album was my first exposure to these guys and it was just alright
maybe the gateway to future fandom but in my book just alright at first listen

Sowing I highly recommend the bass player, Toby Driver's main bands if you haven't listened yet: maudlin of the Well and Kayo Dot, they're essential sputcore

Playing this again. Fuck this is good. Takes me back to the ‘80s and yet it’s very fresh. Wonder if these dudes will make another album.

This is the album mid '80s The Cure would record, if they were bordering post/black metal
