This would actually be a good starting point. It encompasses a lot of their sounds throughout their whole career. After that, trying listening to Pink, Feedbacker, Heavy Rocks and Amplifier Worship, Smile. Go wherever from there. Doesn't matter much.

this is a good starting place but in the end it'd be Pink definitly, it's like a hazy/gazy furious punk-rock album and all around slays
although if you want to be embarked on a sonic trip get on Feedbacker it's pre-much their best imo

yeah, really depends on what you want from the band. I always suggest Akuma No Uta simply because it's awesome and was really a turning point for Boris

Yeah I agre with zombicidal, start with Akuma no Uta, it has a bit of everything Boris. this one is kinda like that too, but more representative of their latter years I feel.

Start here. Album is a glorious mishmash of all sounds "Boris." Melody is so fucking good. So lush. Vanilla feels like a retread

of Pink blended with their shoe gazing tendencies built in. Ghost of Romance and Angel revisit Flood and Feedbacker

territory. Tail no Baka is sugary j-pop bliss. Heavy Rain is just, well, balls heavy and recalls Amplifier Worship. Quicksilver is

like the combination of Akuma no Uta and

some more Pink, and Siesta takes the sprawling drone soundscapes from Praparat to a logical conclusion.

And all the songs have that Heavy Rocks edge to them.

Album is #2 OTY so far, easy. Though Lazaretto is creepin up quick.

Received my vinyl last night, go to listen to "Angel" and I hear a "popping" sound during each revolution. I look at it and it has deep scratches on the outer edge! Fuuuuuck.

Hello Merch were surprisingly quick to help me replace it. I sent them pictures of the scratches and they mailed out a priority replacement that day with a box to mail the old one back. Good deal.

Lol, Wata also sings "Rain" on the BXI EP, which rules as well. Heavy Rain is light years ahead though, definitely one of the best tracks on this

I'd go Akuma No Uta, Pink, the three 2011 albums, Heavy Rocks, Feedbacker, Flood, Smile, Praparat, Amplifier Worship, and Absolutego. I think this gives you some more accessible Boris first, might be easier to enjoy.

However it's always fun to listen from the beginning, since that paints a picture of how their sound came to be. If you like their other work don't forget to check out BXI, their EPs with Michio Kurihara, and their split with Sunn O)))
