I don't understand the lack of 5s for this album. I think it's Metallica's one true masterpiece, but I guess I'm still pushed to give it a 5 despite what I said. It's just on average every Metallica album gets about 3-4 stars more than I would give it, so I thought the fact that I give this a 4.5 should mean it's like 4.8 on average at least. Oh well, I probably just don't get Metallica. I'm the one who's missing out in the end really, but oh well.

And why are there so many complaints about production? Maybe I got a remastered version or something (I highly doubt that) but the only trouble with it is the bass being turned really low. The production's a big step up from MOP, no doubt. Or maybe my ears don't work properly, that would also explain a lot.

this is a classic thrash album. this was when metallica was at their peak. creatively at least. and the lyrics arent half bad either.
