Lantlôs... yet another snoozefest.
Neige played in Peste Noire for 8 years, and merely 2/3 years max with Lantlôs. Neige got primarily famous owing to his involvement in Peste Noire.
Btw I'm surprised noone wrote a review of the last s/t Peste Noire album yet, especially after their lyrics had been translated.

Seriously the first one mentioning Peste Noire again gets slapped, Neige's influence was minimal on their demo's and non-existent on their actual albums bar a single fucking song on folkfuck folie.
Peste Noire = La Sale Famine, and nobody else.

I disagree hard on the album starting off slow with the first track not being up to par with the rest, the first track is easily my favorite on the album.
Best song on the album especially the bridge.

Didn't Neige get famous for playing Amesoeurs (and then Alcest beside that)? Or did he also get
noticed for being with Peste? I don't believe I was old enough to be into BM when all that was
happening.

He never wrote shit all for Peste, just did the vocals and some guitar I believe. He was definitely recognized for Alcest and Amesoeurs.

You want to be accurate on what Neige did/wrote precisely on all his bands and stop beating around the bush? check this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Neige_%28musician%29
Neige once explained that all the bands he took part in helped him express different sides of his personality:"Indeed, there are “several” sides to Neige. Alcest’s Neige is like the basis of my personality, its essence: a joyful and quiet man who is a reflection of the music. Amesoeurs’ Neige is more of an urban man who is completely lost, sad and anxious, not knowing his goals anymore nor his desires. He doesn’t know himself any longer since he has accumulated a great deal of frustration and unspoken vices. Last but not least, Peste Noire’s Neige is a kind of old, evil and stupid witch whose unbearable stench is equalled only by his ugliness. My urge of animal and primitive regression is embodied by this mix between a cave woman and a fiend.""Klemi, From dream kingdoms to metro tunnels: ALCEST / AMESOEURS, Kaleidoscope mag, Issue number 4, 2007"

He played drums in peste for fuck's sake
|
| |
Even Neige is overstating his involvement with these bands.
|
| |
He played drums, but those where written by La Sale Famine.. And even IF he did write the drums, it was only on their demo's.
He had no involvement what so ever with PN's LP's.
Neige's name however, helped PN's name get more exposure.
|
| |
Evreaia: He did more than merely drums.
Neige is the main vocalist here:

Neige WROTE this track and sings the vocals:
http://youtu.be/qj5BOe8xyFs
Neige WROTE the acoustic guitar intro on this track:
http://youtu.be/TNXhRfm5W7A
He also played bass and organs on some other songs. He also played guitar in all the Peste Noire concerts (http://youtu.be/0PfeW47ft_o). Of course, Peste Noire is Famine's baby but Neige played in the band for 8 years, noone can deny that.

who the fuk are peste noire
|

An awesome black metal band that you should get on asap dude if you're a fan of the genre
|
| |
is it straight up bm like mayhem or does it have a little extra something to it? i can't really get into the mayhem type stuff
|
| |
They're raw black metal a la Mayhem in essence, but they definitely have something extra to them. Lots of folky interludes and choirs and such occasionally. Give em a shot man

| |
"who the fuk are peste noire"
The second best BM band ever
@Malkir: He wrote one song indeed, I metnioned that in a older page. But he did not write anything substantial, PN = La Sale Famine

I agree you NEED to check them out, but comparing them in any way to Mayhem is pretty misleading. They barely have any sonic similarities

Jade Fields gets me hard. 'i am the sun.... i am the sun'
I think this is more post metal inspired than anything particularly bm. The deafheaven/alcest
similarities seem baseless, at least to these ears; though i see how the album art could elude to
the spirt of those bands. seems lantlos has just about departed from any hint of bm entirely
|
| |
Yeah they don't really sound alike, but as a reference point for Em I think it's sufficient. He wasn't even referring specifically to just Mayhem, just the general 'rawer' sound as I understood.
