No problem Iron Giant - keep up the good work. I really enjoy this album, but it's one of those albums where I completely understand why people hate it or don't get the hype.

"This is music for the rebels, the ones who are tired of listening to what is deemed ‘acceptable’ and ‘popular’ by a seemingly less-than-qualified consensus."
I liked most of the review, but I cannot stand when people make claims like this. I am in no way a rebel, and i have no problem with listening to "acceptable" and "popular" music, but I still love this album. While I don't think this album is going to shape the future of music like some seem to think, I do think that Death Grips have the potential to release an album that does that, they just need to take it a bit more seriously, not that they will ever do that. That being said, like somebody else mentioned, a lot of the reasons you described as to why you don't like the album are the exact reasons people like me enjoy it. It's messy, chaotic, and unforgiving, and not a whole lot of albums are like that these days. But that's what makes the album what it is: you either love it or you hate it it seems. I haven't seen a whole lot of middle ground.
Anywho, I'm rambling, this was a pretty good review.

"It definitely works as party music too, I just don't think it's limited to it."

@ILJ
I'm quite sure you don't need to be part of a target demographic to like something

agree with ILJ. can't stand when people try to create a strawman or explanation for why I like something, usually in the most condescending way possible

Such an extreme reaction. So polarizing, this review. Almost like something else I can think of.

SeaAnemone is still butthurt over the Deafheaven thing and as such is not offering any constructive criticism so much as
just plain criticism. if you're gonna spend your time commenting might as well comment something worthwhile that adds
to the discussion rather than deters from it
|

"butthurt"...
I mean honestly the review isn't horribly written at all I wasn't saying it was; there were a few cringey lines lol "this one is for the rebels!!" but the writing/argument is solid, I was just making fun of your opinion
|
| |
they are getting a little ass sore yeah but they're really just fucking around
okay, yeah, the rebels line was a bit audaciouz
|
| |
like you realize nobody was offended at that deafheaven list lol they were just making fun of you
