the nu metal association. they already had some flack, but dropping the guitar tuning from D to C was almost a little too sus. i know why page had to (cant reach the vocal range) but still it just confirmed peoples association to a much hated genre that was in decline.

The majority of fans won't even know what a drop C tuning is. The very few both in the know and dumb enough to be offended by that sorta thing will hardly matter.
