Super consistent New York quartet Bayside are as assured as ever on their tight 6th LP 'Cult'. An amalgam of all prior releases, it most resembles 'Shudder' in its uncomplicated, up-tempo approach. Lead guitarist Jack O'Shea is again given multiple chances to shine, while front-man Anthony Raneri's vocals continue to improve. Where 'Cult' takes a step up is with its lyrics, where the darker, more introspective tone results in multiple quotable nuggets per track! While it lacks diversity, 'Cult' is another excellent Bayside LP that contains no filler & will undoubtedly please their loyal fans. Recommended Tracks: Stuttering, You're No Match, Big Cheese & Time Has Come.

Love these guys. Been spinning this (and Every Avenue) a lot lately.

I think this might be my favorite Bayside out of what I have heard so far.

Haven't heard it, unfortunately. I have this, Walking Wounded, and Killing Time.

Their 'Covers' ep is one of my favorite things ever. Of course I have a soft spot for punk-pop covers.....

This and Picture Perfect by Every Avenue have been on repeat for me lately. A lot of mid 00's pop punk that is vastly under appreciated out there.

This officially took the top spot for most played lp on my rotation. Other songs have more spins, but as an album this is heads above everything else this year.

It's not on this album but Sick, Sick, Sick from Killing Time is actually my most played song on my entire iTunes. Strange cause there's many many songs I like a lot more.

"I know that I promised not to call, But princess, I needed you to know; that I'd give anything for one more day... to stand beside you at your throne. I'm not cut out to face this world alone"

That is such a great turn of phrase.

This was a pretty big upgrade from Killing Time for me. Didn't end up liking that album near as much as I thought I was going to.

Anyone heard Dancing Like an Idiot?

I'm pretty sure it's actually just five other Bayside songs chucked together with hilariously juvenile "srs bsns" subject matter.

I'm actually really stoked for this. Cult was my AOTY for 2014. I'm probably the only person hoping that we get a 2nd covers ep this year as well :D
