You should try Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, same Summoning-esque atmosphere with different vocals but just as solid.

Summoning is probably one of my least favorite. They get way too boring for me.

That's because you listen to Summoning with the mindset that they're black metal. They have way too many outside influences mixed in their new music to be considered a prominently black metal band, the guitars may not be the forefront, but that's the point, unlike regular black metal they aren't necessarily suppose to be the main instrument. And no the album doesn't stay very metal throughout, but that's the whole point of this album. This Message Edited On 10.14.08

Land of the Dead....damn, that song is what I call emotional!
Absolutely love that song, still checking the rest.

Even my friend who only listens to New Wave ''almost'' downloaded it if the ''screaming vocals'' weren't there, which is quite rare to see.

Wow, you're weird. I think this album shows just how great of composers Silenius and Protector are. The first flute riff tin Beleriand is such a masterpiece. Excellently composed. Not to mention Might and Glory is just an amazing song.

I think this is their best album. Minas Morgul following closely. This Message Edited On 10.22.08

This Message Edited On 02.24.09

hmm, my opinion of this album has gone up over time. I had it rated at 3 and have been forced to increase it. Unusual really, cos my ratings generally decrease rather than the other way around.

Land Of The Dead is easily one of the greatest songs ever. Perfect atmosphere, and killer instrumentation. Brining to mind vast scenery and a horrific battle. Heil!!!

Ugh "Land of the Dead" is so fucking good. Another black metal band that is always so consistent.

Agreed that this is one of their weakest. Stonghold is probably my favorite album from them.

This is by far their weakest, the only Summoning album I really can't get into. Kind of weird because all of their stuff is extremely similar, but this album is simply poor. Minas Morgul is my favorite.

Dol Guldur and Minas Morgul are about tied for me. This one and Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame bore me, but are still decent.
