Would likely 1.5 this if I heard it for the first time today. Oh well - cheers to nostalgia of the tremendous variety.

I don't know, Kj. you have a lot of positives on here. corey's performance is really good (to me the
all time screamer of choice anyway, if we're talking voice-color only). joey fits and is aggressive.
it's unique and was even more back in the day. of course lyrics suck most of the time and it repeats
itself. but then again, corey can perform average lyrics so they actually sound "cool" or at least
catchy with his intensity. this is why they gained mainstream listeners. it's all about the vocals
there.
let's face it, this "coolness/kind of catchyness" is what makes a lot of metalheads hate slipknot.
I mean think about it - it is ridiculous to be that heavy and still have mainstream appeal or
catchyness.
not that I am an all-time slipknot fan but there are so many bands rated higher on here I could
never listen to because the vocals just dont bring it. it's tuff to explain since everything is
subjective but I feel like many people only rate considering the "more" objective things. like
technicality, arrangement complexity, the "art-factor". whereas for me the art or value can often
lie in the vocal color perfection or even production. to me, 90% of what other metal screamers do is
easy. and it often sounds ugly or weak or monotonous without intensity/dynamic - not what I call a
heavy voice. and deep growls are just a joke.
speculating on opinions and their reasons is always fun

How the hell do they tune their low 6th string to F# on "Scissors". Drop B makes sense on all the other songs, but damn F# wtf on a 6 string that should sound like a soggy pancake
