Deafheaven is boring and overrated to no end in my opinion
Baroness is an ok band but also nothing special
And ive heard some songs from Intronaut but alredy forgotten how they sound like which is not a good sign

korn may not be high art but at least they make songs with some kind of drive and melodies that stick with you and that's more than i can say about 90% of the bands that are so hailed by the critics

Any pop star can make a song with melodies that stick in your head, but is it actually good music? Not always the case, my friend.
The fact that you listened to all of the aforementioned and it left no impression on you whatsoever speaks to the fact that you either simply aren't intelligent enough to comprehend them or you haven't matured enough to appreciate true "metal" music.

on the other side, having nothing that sticks in your head is a sign that the music is not that well
written and that the band failed to create unique parts in their album. And that's definitely a flaw
that many less poppy (or more progressive) band do have.
And Baroness and Intronaut imo have that weakness, especially in the vocal department. They are
definitely "acquired taste" band and don't really stick to you on the first few listen.
