I really have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea to listen to this.

Finally decided on ratings for this and Apollo, but they're kinda shaky. At the moment I like Apollo more than this, and I don't think that will change any time soon.

Man, you Apollo kids are frustrating. This will not be topped. Not even with Chris Pennie.

This is their best no doubt about it, but Apollo is a very close second. Some of my all time fav C&C songs are in Apollo.

Got this today on the recommendation that C&C shouldn't be cast off by a good friend of mine.

I'm listening through it for the second time today. There is a certain epic quality to it and the quality of the songs is very consistent. His voice is definitely the thing that keeps me from immediately liking them. Still, I will give this to grow on me. The instrumental aspect of the band is great.

Classic, especially the first five tracks.

Although I'm beginning to think IKSOSE is just as good. This Message Edited On 08.06.07

Easily their best album.

It is also a lot better if you get into the actual story. Which is incredibly dark, in contrast to what the mood conveyed by the style of music is at times.

Haha yeah to be honest I have no fucking clue what the story is.

Look it up on wikipedia or something. You'll probably get more out of the album with some knowledge of the background story.

Yeah I was looking into that. The first two they did on SSTB are either out of print or limited though.

I have never had as hard of a time rating a band's albums as Coheed. I really like their sound and think's it's pretty goshdarn original but at the same time, it's nothing special. ARGH!

Does anyone hear the double bass on this album as clearly as I do, yet there is insistance on Josh's use of a single pedal?
