Well faux prog and modern prog seem to be the same thing but I could be wrong. Explain what faux prog is cause people say it all the time

I hate them because they're basically Btbam from whatever genre they're supposed be in

I listened to CAC once but don't remember the album too well

Coheed has some good stuff, but Claudio's voice is definitely an acquired taste. I never really thought of them being all that progressive though.

Sup ecal. I actually forget which album I listened to that's how much I forget haha
|

What up, mongi? I is gonna read your review. Right now.
Ha, Coheed is an interesting band, but I completely understand why people wouldn't like them. Hell, I didn't start liking them until they were 4 or 5 albums in, and then (most) of their other stuff grew on me after that.

If you would like, here is some feedback:
“Lyrically and musically every album is different. When it comes to lyrics Porcupine Tree is all over the place.”
I would combine these and add a comma after lyrics, like so: …every album is different, and when it comes to lyrics, Procupine Tree…
“However, it goes much deeper than just being a teen angst album. Wilson got the inspiration for the lyrical content from the novel Lunar Park.”
Same with this; I would combine them and maybe do a bit o’ re-wording, like dis: -However, since Wilson got the inspiration for the lyrical content from the novel, Lunar Park, it goes much deeper than just being a teen angst album.-
“Anesthetize is essentially an eighteen minute epic that consists of three parts. It begins with Gavin’s masterful epic rhythm and bleak guitar. It then changes into something incredibly heavy even for Porcupine Tree’s standards.”
Some more combining here:
-Anesthetize is essentially an eighteen minute epic that consists of three parts; It begins with Gavin’s masterful, epic, and bleak rhythm guitar and then changes into something incredibly heavy, even for Porcupine Tree’s standards.-
“It’s a nice song and there’s nothing particularly bad about it in any way, but one can’t help but think of Trains as you listen to it. It essentially has the same exact guitar chords as Trains and it’s played in the same fashion as Trains.”
So much trains here… Maybe this could use some re-wording. We get that it sounds like Trains. You said it in the first sentence, lol. It just reads a bit on the repetitive side.
“The creepy keyboards, heavily distorted guitars, and angsty vocal delivery really sells the song and it is the perfect song to end on.”
More on the repetitive side here with ‘song.’ You could just state ‘…really sells it and makes the perfect song to end on,’ or something like that.
“Any fans of progressive metal should not pass this up. This is the closest the band has ever gotten to the genre and you will leave the experience both disturbed and exhilarated.”
More combination having here: -Any fans of progressive metal should not pass this up as it is the closest the band has ever gotten to the genre, and you will leave the experience both disturbed and exhilarated.-

You kind of start and stop a lot in your writing here (hence the several combining suggestions), which can disrupt the flow of your review. Also, I would put your song names in quotations (or at least something else besides just capitalizing them) so they are a little easier to pick out. Usually the norm is quotes on song names, and italics on album names.
Still a solid write up, guy. I'll have to check out what you suggested to me for this band in that other thread... If I can remember where it is, lol.

Yea it's not perfect but most reviews are never perfect. Thanks for the feedback I really have to work on that.
And if you like a heavier darker sound try out In Absentia. It's my personal favorite of there's and its also where most people start because its generally the bands best known album. Or if you want something more accessible and lighter try out Stupid Dream. Both amazing albums but IA is a 5 for me
