Got a friend who's obsessed with this band right now and it's driving me nuts at how terrible this sounds

Chocolate is okay. It was catchy for about 3 days and then I stopped listening to it but I didn't even bother with the rest of this lol

Don't really give a fuck what they look like or where they come from.

Honestly, I think this is one of the most fun records of the year, still jammin' to it.

Probably my biggest guilty pleasure ever, I really think this album is a complete package.

And I'm not even joking.

Clumseee, you said it.

I can only understand the hate for this album in a context of elitism.

For pop (which, don't forget, is a legitimate genre), this is great stuff.

No, it's not conceptual or enigmatic or high-brow. That doesn't mean it's bad.

I definitely do not hate the 1975 or this album and could very much understand why someone would like this album. Furthermore I think the reasons most people hate them are very arbitrary (they're pretty/poseurs/popular) and will melt away with the bands progress.

Sex isn't as good on the album.

I just hate that horribly whiny voice

Well sure. That's fair. But does that make it objectively bad? The notes are still being properly hit. You just don't dig the timbre.

I HATE Bob Dylan's voice, but that doesn't mean that he, as a band, sucks.

Hardly anything objectively sucks goddam people who use that buzzword their opinions are then objectively rubbish

Yeah the only band that is objectively bad is Karmin. Everyone knows that.

Alright, well generally speaking, I don't really find the lyrics interesting, I think that musically it's nothing special other than extremely catchy but even that doesn't last long. I was actually really into sex and chocolate when this was first released but I got sick of it within a couple days, which sum up it's replay value to me

Uninteresting lyrics and low replay value are excellent reasons to rate music low! I disagree about this album but respect your stance. That's a MUCH more objective metric than "I don't like his voice" in my book. Not to debate music in general in a specific thread, but I think everyone would agree that there are objective qualities and subjective qualities in music.

Well I can fully understand why someone would enjoy this album, but that isn't a good enough reason to up my rating in any form. It isn't bad, but it isn't good to me either on the whole
