It was the EP he did as lead singer of Saosin.

| |
yeah, I've heard about it numerous times. it was the album that got him famous, I'm sure.
|
| |
don't care how talented he is. not with that voice. that was the reason why I didn't like mcr for the longest time.
|
| |
I like mcr.

So you got used to Gerard's voice OR you just think he improved that much?
|
| |
I guess I just started to not mind it anymore.

I'd say you got used to it. You'll come around to Anthony Green over the next decade or so.
|
| |
I got used to gerard pretty quickly. doubt I'd ever give anthony green a chance a decade from now!

Great review Davey. I just checked these guys out and I'm digging what I hear!

Good man.

Ugh, never liked the dude from Saosin or MCR.
"like who?"
Well, for starters, I don't like the singers for The Wonder Years, The Story so Far or Saves the Day. I think there are more, but band names are escaping me at the moment. Those are the most notable ones I tried out a while back.
"Yeah, it's tricky to do so... Although, I do think that 1st impressions have to be ignored to some extent. There have been planet of singers who I initially haven't liked that I have got used to over the time. EG: Ben from Billy Talent."
True, and I have been able to do it a few times, too. Coheed and Cambria and Senses Fail were growers in the vocal department for me.

I think they are all fair calls for a more mainstream leaning person. Soupy has never done anything for me vocally, but his lyrics make up for it & he doesn't turn me off. I personally like Parker's voice, but I wouldn't say he stands out. As for Chris Conley, now there's a strange one (especially live). Buddy is a good example of a voice that could really go either way with listeners. Ultimately, it's up to the individual. But that could also be said for any genre really.

Oh, and thanks for the link andcas. Parker needs to dispense with the beanie... & man, that drummer slays.
|
| |
That drummer rules [2].
That band has always sounded better to me live than on studio.

cyg what is your favorite mcr album. Also I jsut got into the Wonder Years (saw them live and they were great). Are these guys at all similar? im gunna download it when im back from vacation.
|

black parade by far.

Yeah, Black Parade for me as well.
And no, these guys aren't all that similar to The Wonder Years. Not a million miles away from them in that they play in the same genre, but not all that similar.
|
| |
Daveyboy thanks
Cyg and Daveyboy your thoughts on their other albums would be interesting, Black Parade is my favorite and then I'd say the new set of ep's that were released after they broke up and then 3 cheers and then danger days which I thought was stupid.
