I think about half the songs are the usual quality, then there's a few okay and probably only the three or four that are in the ehh to bad zone

"I Will Steal You Back" is a definite highlight. How well that song flows and that guitar solo. Love it!

I can totally see this growing into a 5 for me. They really nailed it with this release.

Think I might pick this up based on their producer choice alone... Haven't heard a full album by these guys since Bleed American.

You should certainly like this. I can see a lot of "Futures" in this release.

everyone who cares about beautiful storytelling in music should get straight on this. best, most relatable concept album ive ever heard. i thought appreciation was just a great rock song, but then when i listened to it after having heard the rest of the album, after knowing how the relationship falls apart, i started to tear up during the lines in appreciation that sing about fighting to make it work and how its worth working for even though things may not be perfect. made me feel sorry for the "character" and the naive hopefulness he displays at the beginning. its sweet and heartbreaking. if youre not listening to the lyrics throughout this album youre doing it wrong. its a masterpiece.

Damn, best concept album is high praise. Love this though, although I prefer Invented by far, band does no wrong.

I dunno minty, I reckon you've just gone through the exact shit he's describing. There are better, more insightful love lost albums,

can you recommend them to me?

Well, I honestly think Invented is one of them. Converge - Jane Doe. The XX - Co-exist. Cursive - Domestica. Bloc Party - Intimacy

i think invented has some great lyrics in there that demonstrate the dark side to a romance, but really it isnt one cohesive story. its just pieces. i spose each song within itself is a standalone story when it comes to invented, which i love, but there isnt this overarching progression that really draws me in as with damage.

I love the way each song on Invented is its own self-contained story with really good lyrics (well, except My Best Theory). Minty, the way you feel about this album (and your rating) is exactly how I feel about Invented. I'm with Captain North on that.

Lol that line kinda makes me cringe, but I still can't understand the hate for Higher Devotion. Goes to show that JEW can still surprise us.
