"oh and obviously the reason this album isnt good is because dave quit drugs. he made his best albums when he was smokin crack "

i dont think he was ever on crack anyway. iirc it was heroin, cocaine and alcohol abuse
|

nah that dude definitely smoked rock

He made their best albums when he was high as fuck, but UA and Endgame were both extremely solid efforts. Pretty sure Dave was clean for only a couple of months during the RIP era. He was clean when they started recording and then immediately after I'm pretty sure he was just fucking blown

Ha, this just sucks straight out, someone tried to tell me it was their best since Thirteen, which doesn't really make sense however you look at it

Well it's technically true, since it's their only album since Th1rt3en. But that also makes it their worst since Th1rt3en. Perhaps he meant it sarcastically, like saying that it's the best album since their last one is the only way they could say it's their best anything.

I think it's a bit of a joke that this album is rated lower than "Risk". At least this has some riffs...
It's not that bad. Yes, the lyrics are terribad but I find the music decent enough on the whole. This is a masterpiece compared to "St. Anger"!

Went to see Megadeth last night at Brixton Academy (London) with a few mates. Dave looks like he's on something! Kept getting the verses mixed up for some of the old classics. Still a good gig though, luckily didn't play too much of this album.

"luckily didn't play too much of this album"
that's always a good sign eh? you see a band touring in support of a newly released album and they know it's such shit that they basically avoid it in their setlist.

Haha, very true! Played about 5 or 6 from Countdown which went down a storm (and of course Hangar 18, Holy Wars, Peace Sells etc.), then everyone stands there motionless for the new stuff...
Could've been worse, people were actually heckling when we saw Metallica on the St. Anger tour gig when they played anything off that album.
