Don't think so, man. Maybe if I get really tired of this one someday, but my Lost fanboyism is rather strong lately.

Weirdo. The ending to that show was an abortion, admit it.
|
| |
Nah, I personally enjoyed the direction they took with the ending.
If anything, I'd argue the show's weakness was that it delved too much into information about the Others / Dharma, etc.
|
| |
I really tried to enjoy this... Is there something I'm missing?
|
| |
Nah man, it's pretty awful actually.
|
| |
Not awful, just I didn't particularly enjoy it.
That's probably cause your review sold me on this so much I had too high of expectations. Sweet review by the way.
|
| |
Haha, thanks man! This album's a personal one for me, so my review is expressing that over anything else. Definitely not saying it's an experience tons of people will have, or anything like that.
|
| |
Interesting listen...not sure it's my thing but the guitar lines are pretty sweet

Sounds like Faraquet and Carving Desert Canyons had a love child

My friend put one of the songs from this on my fb wall. I'll check this out.

I know why I didn't like this now.
It's way more math rock than post rock. Way, way more math rock - great review but maybe mention that somewhere?

omaha everything you like sounds like something i would like [3]
I think I have gotten more stuff I ended up really liking that I had never heard of from Omaha than any other staff/contributor on the site.
And for that, I thank you.
|
| |
I'll see what I can do JS, thanks for the tip.
Ecnalzen, that comment means more to me than one would probably think. I'm glad you've been satisfied with what I bring to the site-- must mean I'm doing something good here, right?
I have a couple more reviews scheduled in the next couple weeks, so hopefully you'll find those records similarly alluring.

I hate how indifferent I am towards this album. It feels like something I could absolutely fall in love with, but at the end of the day it just falls frustratingly short somehow. I really want to love this but just can't.
|
| |
And it's elusive-- I likely wouldn't feel the same way about it if I hadn't discovered it when I did. Everything just clicked, which kind of defies this whole "let's slap a rating on the album and be done with it!" mindset I had for awhile.
My opinions on music change constantly-- I'll be damned if I can pin all these albums to the most precise tenth decimal place.

heard this the other day and enjoyed it a fair bit, around a 3.5 type deal iirc
will give it some more listens this week, hope it clicks for me the way it did 4 uuuuuuuuuuuuuu

No problem! I am enticed by the alluring-ness of said reviews and look forward to all the possibilities of musical awesomeness in my ears. I listened to some of this last night, and it was on the pretty great side.
On a slightly unrelated note, Omaha, JIZUE HAS A NEW ALBUM COMING OUT TOMORROW, and I may or may not be really excited about it. Would that possibly be one of your scheduled reviews?

I've tried to get into Enemies before and couldn't but I'm a few tracks into this and actually digging it a lot.
I've also tried getting into Jizue before and it didn't really strike my fancy but I'll check their new one out too.
btw, LITE also released a new album two days back. Some good mathy jams on there.
