Can't really say if this will stick, but atm I find this to be a much more fun and "loose" (in a good way) album than anything he's done since The Sinister Urge.

It's not surprsing. I really dug Devil's Rejects. His first film also wasn't bad.

Yeah. I really like this one. It was sadistic, but in a really fun way. 1000 Corpses was much more over the top, and many people just didn't buy it. I thought it was good for what it tried to do. The Devil's Rejects is a much better movie overall though. I skipped his remakes of Halloween, and probably haven't missed much. Lords Of Salem looks cool.

Ah ok. It makes perfect sense now.

The only thing I have seen/heard from Rob Zombie that I actually liked is The Devil's Rejects.

I like the movie and even if I missed some of his redneck dementia featured in House Of 1000 Corpses, The Lords Of Salem is his best work IMO.

Any thoughts on the Lords of Salem soundtrack? It's waaaaaay better than this album, let me tell you. John 5 had heavy involvement in scoring it, it's some of the atmospheric stuff I've ever heard from the guy.

@breakingthefragile I think I like this album a little better than you do but you are right in your soundoff so there's that.

his vocals on this are ten steps up from the last 2 albums

yeah this is better then the last 3 albums for sure.
but imo he will always be a 90's band as far as material is concerned, but his live shows are still exceptional
