anyone who has the polished, pop-punk gone alt rock sound. stuff like the classic crime, birds of tokyo, ivoryline, jew, the graduate, etc., and these are just the good ones. i'm sure you don't want me to elaborate lol

Those are indeed the good ones.
I find that the graduate focuses more on atmosphere than the rest of those altrockers. They have more slow and dreamy tendencies, but sacrifice catchiness in the process.

I have heard some Birds of Tokyo, and I wasn't a fan. I like all the rest you mentioned, toxin, but Ivoryline is probably the "worst" out of the group (not that they are necessarily bad, per se).

sure i won't argue with that, in most cases i wouldn't be a huge fan of the subgenre either. most bands in it don't really transcend 3.5 honestly, which means it's not good enough to revisit

I love The Classic Crime and Anberlin. The Graduate is pretty good and House of Heroes have some good songs. I have also really been liking both Young Guns albums (1st more than the 2nd) and Deaf Havana's last album.

Yeah The Classic Crime is great. I think I gravitate to the good stuff in that subgenre anyways, but Phoenix, Bleed American, all of Anberlin's stuff are pretty much the only ones I ever return to
