Which is an interesting discussion, but even this, No Flashlight, is despondent, and personal, and introspective of the purpose of art; I don't see a tonal shift so much as a thematic one. His wife's death seems only to recontextualize and repurpose this same music. Of course, I've not listened to enough of his music to make a strong argument.
