It was an interesting 'experiment' to say the least. It has a very avant-garde feel and really drags the listener deep into some pseudo-prog dimensions. It's entertaining, especially if you really sit down and just let it consume you as opposed to forcing yourself to 'get it'. I felt it was more about having the listener experience something abstract rather than pretending to make a statement about art music, but I have to say it is a decent song. Even though I often skip it when listening to that album.

I never enjoy listening to Melody 8. i like that they essentially said "okay, this album's about perfect so let's fuck with that with one insane final song," but there's nothing discernibly good about the track. I mean, it really is just noise to me

I understood what they were going for, and i think they did it well in that song. Though it takes an acauired taste to sit through 28 minutes of nonstop experimental rock and actually enjoy it. As i said, i think it's okay, but one i never have a desire to listen to.

Like the first five tracks, but everything after that is a quick downward spiral. Melody Nine, No Phase, and X'ed Out and Tired are just flat out boring. Slimed might be the worst song on the album sounding like a cheap knockoff King Crimson. Surf Nazis and Tropic Lame are all right. Until Lufthansa reminded me of Battles (not saying it sounded like them) and how I'd rather be listening to Mirrored.
It is frustrating since Bite, Snake Lake, and Weird Circles are all really fantastic songs.
