Sounds kinda like they are trying to be The Shins. Even so, I actually do really like "An Escape".

It is genuinely good to me. The rest so far I can do without.

"giving 3s and 3.5s for stuff you don't like just cos you think it's "objectively" good. To me it

just

seems like people are too pussy to rate what they want cos they're scared of the stick they'll get

for

it."

As I have said before, I don't operate from the same type of thinking as you. You think very low

scores are necessary to show your true feelings. I don't see the point in giving an average album

(which this is shaping to be) anything below the commonly accepted average line. To me THAT feels

dishonest and done in a bid for attention.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed with this. But it's still TDH so it's still pretty awesome.

I'm listening for the second time and I think the worst album tag might stick but I'm enjoying it more this time around than I did the first time.

I think after this it's nigh time Casey gets crackin' on Act IV

There will be six when that project is done. So there will be three more.

How lofty and ambitious of him. Cant wait to see what he is going to do with IV. I - III are all pretty awesome.

I think it's hard to 5 this album with "Shouting at the Rain" (and to a lesser degree "The Kiss of Life") in the mix. They are both decent songs, but they really pale in comparison to the rest of the album.

Still a 4 or 4.5 I think. Great effort.

Agreed. Shame grooves pretty hard and it has this very cool, somewhat dark atmosphere to it.

yeah man dem strings in that song. this is really starting to grow on me. i think this one is a lot more subtle and requires more attention than the color spectrum did. the color spectrum was really immediate.

This is his first non-concept album, right? It's kind of weird to think about these songs as not being connected like pretty much everything else he has done.
