with bands like this all the reviews just seem so vague and never make a compelling case as to what is in these albums that make them worthy of anything above a 3
i mean there's opinions and then there's just being nothing in an album of any worth, much like this one. the riffs are unremarkable, the songs don't flow in compelling ways and usually just keep building to nothing and the vocals are so pushed back they may as well not be there. they sometimes add things more interesting, yeah, but they never add up to anything

this is good tbh i might like it more or less with time but 'sblodo is great and i love the ending of westward and i think this is good as a coherent release with a sort of sonic narrative -- topographies of violence & apocalypse etc
