ballous best production was for the earlier screamo albums he put together like pg99 and orchid. hes good but everything he produces sounds too shiny

i do love the grimey sounds on those band's albums(also that Gospel albmu), but i dont really listen to nails for overly dirty and raw grind (or whatever you wanna call this, i know it's not really grind) just an overly heavy tone a big sound and crushing riffs

and that last Loma album wasn't cleanly produced like this, that album had all the ballou grime i needed for a while

I'd say Magrudergrind but they're probably faux or pseudo or have some other flaw that i'm blind to

yeah great album in kamikaze missions^. other bands that received the ballou treatment or had similar
clean production that put out solid stuff would be pulling teeth and cursed,, that one lewd acts
release was pretty cool as well but other than that cant think of much

ballou didnt produce IV

hes an amazing producer (orchid, gospel, cave in, mid era converge, jeromes dream, pg. 99, modern life is war) but his last couple production jobs have started to feel overdone and too clean. there's spots on here where the production gets annoying but i still like the sound of the record a lot for the most part, its definitely their best album their first two were eh

Unsilent Death is a stronger record. It's just powerful and focused. This is a bit more all over the place, and suffers a bit from it.

unsilent death was ok. first two tracks ripped hard, the rest was underwhelming and unmemorable. The production was great though, production choices on here are iffy at times

This wasn't your best review, too many cliched descriptors of a metal album. Idk if I'll check this out, haven't enjoyed this
style of music in a while.
