Peter cannot do wrong. I was planning to do a top 20 list lately, and it's mission impossible. Too many wins in his career.

Kinda have to correct myself in hindsight, the first two tracks are actually nearly on the same level as the last two.

Imagine writing a song about why you chose to go off on your own and become a solo artist, decide to release it as your first single as an explanation to the world, and then have it become a massive hit
Must've thought he was on to something for sure

Peter Gabriel's solo career sure had its moments of pure ownage. Like kicking Invisible Touch off number 1 in '87.

The 80s? That would definitely be Kate Bush imo. But Gabriel managed to be a defining figure in 70s rock AND 80s pop, which is really an achievement

Wacko Jacko by a mile when it comes to 80s pop stars. Nobody could touch him, shame he couldn’t help himself touching little boys.

Jackson really was unrivaled, tbh

I've only heard Thriller in full but that one is a prime example for some absolutely amazing songs (some of the best of the decade) on one album with some complete snoozers. Doesn't even close to The Dreaming, let alone Hounds of Love
