They were a pretty good band, but either way that's irrelevant. You can't sell out if there's nothing to sell out from in the first place - just being a band which makes pop music doesn't make you sell out, nor is it something necessarily bad in the first place.

"Selling out" is generally a bad thing, though not necessarily. It is usually accompanied by a lack if effort, a more streamlined sound, worse lyrics, and other stuff.
I can't say that this band ever sold out because neither black parade nor danger days were what the mainstream audience specifically wanted from the band and the band isn't make them to appease the mainstream audience.
The difference being that black parade was applauded and hugely ambitious, whereas danger days was the opposite.

It'll never happen. Those emos are probably half way to slithing a vital artery in their wrists. =p

Surprisingly good, as someone who can't get into their other stuff.

This was far better than Danger Days agreed.
Danger Days had a bolder concept but this still had far more emotion put into it.

Number 1 - God damn, this sounds like a perfect follow up to Black Parade. These both contain all of the energy of previous releases with a less "trying to be dark" tone which works in their favor.
Number 2 - What Danger Days should have been. 2 extremely catchy songs that carry the poppy sound of their final LP into a much stronger setting. gun. could have been a great single for them.
Number 3 - I mean this actually sounds like the My Chemical Romance that the people love. It could have easily fit on The Black Parade which is a good thing. The World Is Ugly is something all fans of this band's previous work will eat up while The Light Behind Your Eyes is just a very well written ballad.
Number 4 - The most danger days-esque songs on here and it's pretty bad. It tries too hard to be fun but it's just off-putting. I'd say these are worse than some of the aforementioned LP's worst songs. Oh well, so close...
Number 5 - Both of these sound like scrapped closers but that's fine by my book. I think both of these songs sound a tad safe and could have used something extra but they are more than passable as is. Like Number 1, this sounds like a logical step after The Black Parade. An extremely solid finish for the band's last big release.
So I liked 4/5 of these so this album gets a 4/5 which makes sense to me. When it's good, it's really good.
