Like legengofpittman I also got this as a gift from my sibling when she found it in Amoeba record

store for 14$. Didn't know about all the differences from the vinyl to cd, will listen to it and see

for myself soon. And as stated the packaging is awesome, although I can clearly see on my penny that

it's from 2004 which is weird if it's supposedly packaged in 1997 (repacking?) and I think I might

have the third copy of album which is pretty damn cool.

Edit: Ok just read up on the packaging on wikipedia, turns out I just a have a repressing of the

vinyl. Still it has the same stuff as the original had with a few changes as from what I can tell from

pic's of the original.

I just got this in the mail from amazon today. I honestly didn't know it came with this artwork and the flattened penny. WOW this is probably now one of my favorite vinyls that I own.

Awesome review btw.

"1997, initially in an edition of five hundred copies, numbered, with various inserts including a train-flattened penny"

so how did they get a train to flatten them?

They go to a train track, place a couple of pennies on the track and wait for a train to come that can run over them. Then all you need to do is collect the pennies. We have trams in my city and I used to that as a kid. I mean it's not unheard of.

I'd have thought that the pennies would be lost or something

The penny stays in place as the train flattens it.
It's awesome.

How wide are they?

Like twice as wide.
They machines at theme parks like Sea World that flatten pennies and imprint a design on it.

The first side starts with a F# note, the second side ends with a A# note, and the record loops forever at the end.
