Into the Lake of Ghosts and She is the Dark would be my top 2.

Wouldn't really call this band catchy except maybe a few songs. Album slays nonetheless.

After finally hearing Turn Loose the Swans, this has been relegated to my fourth favorite MDB. It's still incredible though.

A Line of Deathless Kings is my most listened MDB album, even if it's my 4th favourite.

I still need to check that one. I have gone through each of their releases pretty slowly, I think because there is generally so much to take in with each album.

Fair enough. I devoured all their albums the past summer and autumn and kept listening pretty often to them ever since. Recently bought The Dreadful Hours and Deathless Kings as well.

yeah thats exactly my problem with their massive discog. just thought bout it lol. paradise lost for example is much more excessible because of their more streamlined songwriting and shorter songs overall

Yeah, at times PL is the only gothic/doom band that can truly just rock out and while not too cheerful, it's still very approachable compared to their peers.

Indeed, it's cool to see how each of the Peaceville Three evolved so differently despite starting roughly from the same place.

Found this in my local second-hand music shop so picked it up... I have never had so much fun reading the liner notes of an album than this one. Really unbefitting of their music too :]

Lol what are they about?
|
| |
It's all of the 'thanks' that they're giving, but there's a lot of them. And some of them have fantastic nicknames (William 'scotch git' Wallace, Smelly Arse Mag and Jay 'I've caught me Tobermoray in the cd rom drive and I seem to be stuck to this screen saver" Minshull to name but 3), and there's some along the lines of 'Smelly Bloke who lives downstairs from me (shut the fuck up...)'. It's hilarious.

Aaron can be quite humorous in some interviews, so it doesn't surprise me.

It's one of them I wasn't that familiar with as well, but I knew that cos it was MDB it was almost certainly going to be fantastic. I know we've discussed it before but their consistency is impressive.
