i get why this is where most people think they drop off and (except i found away/lost and rendered) i dont think they went all the way with what they tried to do but their insane ability for hooks makes this a pretty solid pop rock/arena ready album all around (besides live young die fast which is pretty bad)

I really didn’t enjoy any of the hooks on this thing even. So I didn’t even have that as a saving grace haha

i mean if you dont have help me skeletons and llkk lodged in your head as instantly as i do then idk what to tell you its really not the ideal sound for em and especially if you weren’t hot on crimson thats hard to look past at first but like pretty much all alkaline albums it does improve with each listen, and when looking at it as its own album there is a lot to like here
tho i realize i am one of its defenders, which there arent really many. this addiction is actually pretty bad a lot of te time tho

Ugggggh llkk drove me insane honestly. Almost slammed my head on my table. I will revisit this, same with Crimson too, once I’m through everything. Trust me, it makes me sad being so bleh towards an album from these guys, so I hope I enjoy it more upon a revisit haha

llkk is like, the closest thing this band has to like a guilty pleasure song lol basically everybody but me thinks it and live young (which is warranted) are the worst here
I think this is probably going to stay low in your alk3 ranking (as it probably should) and select songs will grow on you overtime, and crimson will probably grow a lot more

so much better than people give it credit for but live young die fast is a strong contender for their worst song

yeah live young die fast is pretty lame but their worst is probably something from this addiction or my shame. but one of the Matt songs from those albums of course

Perhaps the most telling thing that points to the band letting criticism over Crimson get into their heads is that the two best songs written for this album ended up on the cutting room floor. A complete swing and miss.

Eh, doesn’t really sound like the Trio but is still way better than the next one which can be stopped after track 1
