I like this album but if I didn't already like Thrice and heard it I probably wouldn't like it. but I do believe that Thrice is probably one of the best bands in existence.
I think for their next cd if they put microphones next to their toilets whilst they shat It would still be amazing, I would buy it.

- The beginning of Phoenix Ignition is way too country for me. Acoustic guitar with Dustin and Teppei singing does not fit with the rest of the song at all.
- Dustin screams in every song except In Your Hands. Thats 9 songs (not including the filler). Yes, his scream can be enjoyable, but nearly every song? Thats fucking annoying.
bash a song for doing something different? thats cool.
Screaming is annoying? Maybe you're just a pussy.

Also a big Thrice fan, and having trouble enjoying this one as much. That is understandable though, very few bands are ready to rock and roll their best right out of the gate. A solid introduction and a glimpse into the wonders we would see down the road.

I think this is Thrice's best album. They've made leaps and bounds as musicians, to be sure, but they had all they needed right from the debut. Identity Crisis features Thrice's mastery of nearly every genre of music out there, from the heavier metalcore guitar riffs to the country opener to "Phoenix Ignition" to the pseudo-Ska chorus of "Ultra Blue." It's an album that never fails to be extremely fun and catchy.

Viewed in the context, this is a great album, you can easily see the vast amounts of talent, and some bands go their whole career without releasing something as good, nor as interesting as this.
It's close to hardcore punk than anything else tbh, but for that genre there's little touches that set it apart.
Not always the best musically, but has some essential Thrice tracks on here (Phoenix Ignition, A Torch to End All Torches, Ultra Blue).

I don't know guys.... I love Thrice, but I am not a big fan of this album. I bet if I had this when it came out then I would be
all nostalgic and love this. But since I've been spoiled by their more recent work, I don't really appreciate this, although it
does have some strong moments. It is an interesting step in their history.
