I don’t currently see this surpassing their most recent effort, but it’s a great addition to my repertoire nevertheless

Honestly they're probably the best melodeath band around right now, even if it was a 11 year wait between this and the new one. Lets just hope their next one will be this decade at least lol

Here's hoping the next one won't take as long. But just in case it takes some time, I find it's worth it for anyone here that are fans of this band to look into the members' various other bands, two of which I highly recommend for similar vibes in particular being Black Night Burial and Vermilion-D Alice Syndrome. They're not quite the same as ICDD, but the similar themes and styles are there.
Of the two, I find VDAS to be the closest to ICDD, as Rib:y(uhki)'s signature vocal style can also be found there as well. Black Night Burial is also good, but Rib:y(uhki)'s vocals are more dialed back in their craziness than here and VDAS, not to mention it's very hard to find most of their albums, aside from the one that features Rib:y(uhki).
I'd definitely love to see some more love for their other projects as I really think they deserve it. In the case of Black Night Burial, I'll even conveniently link the album which I mentioned above here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkCD18bstoU For anyone even remotely interested, definitely give them a shot.
