They do have a lot of albums and it's almost impossible to have that many and not have a few flops.

it almost seems as though they have a bit of a formula sometimes, or at least a template for their albums.
Their best albums seem to have experimental stuff thrown in to disperse the rockin stuff, and sometimes it ruins the flow. This may seem counter-intuitive, but I'm pretty sure its intentional.
Melvins have a great sense of humour, and once you pick up on it, you can dig anything they've done.

I actually know exactly what you're talking about. Stoner Witch is becoming my fav Melvins. It rocks out balls to the wall hard in spots and then 16 of the last 18 minutes of the album, it's all slow-ass drone but it works, I actually look forward most to shevil and lividity anymore
