This was a pretty good little story all in all. Quite enjoyed the read. Probably won't listen to the album and will just wait for countless friends to play one or two songs at parties, just like their last album.

Knott hates this band because the feign sincerity and emotion, producing bland, samey, predictable, pop-tinged folk tunes. He thinks their lyrics are written to capitalize on their fan's desires to feel genuine emotion. He asserts that the popularity of this band is detrimental to the growth of the influence of real, passionate folk music such as Fleet Foxes or Grizzly Bear.
I don't disagree really like I used to (I kind of agree with his analysis actually) but the songs sound nice in my ear holes so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
