This sounds interesting Cap'n, your writing is very very good here. This is one of the best reviews I've read in a while. I'll check this for 2 reasons:
1.You completely persuaded me to listen with lines like "push progressive/post-rock to new heights with their application of strong-foundational and meaningful song structures, effortless transitions, and matured experimental advancements."
2. I'm kinda post-rockish lately, that Leech album is amazing.
Awesome bro and POS'd.

So having this featured on sputnik pretty much quadrupled traffic on our bandcamp page. It feel great that people enjoy the product of our hard work.

The music left me cold on first listen, will give it a few more tries though.
Nice review , pos'd.

So, news; my friend is going to start looking for some people who may be willing to join us. In the next year or so we may be able to arrange some gigs.
|
| |
This is actually really good man
|
| |
Thanks a lot! 3.5 is a solid rating (:
|
| |
So there is a good possibility that we will be picking up another member or two in the near future.
|
| |
We have our eyes on a guy to fill in on guitar, potentially another on bass. That would make us a 4-
piece group with two guitarists.
In the meantime we are going to start writing new material on our own.
|
| |
can i play kazoo
|
| |
Yes, you can be our frontman with a kazoo.
For the writing process I would be a third guitarist and we know a guy who may be able to do those parts live, if we ever get to that point.
|
| |
yeah this is great dude, really nice job
|
| |
I'm happy that you enjoyed it!
|
| |
Sure thing man.

Pretty good on first listen. It's been said before, but vocals would probably work pretty good in the mix. Still, I'm looking forward to where this goes even without vocals. Keep up the good work!
|
| |
Thank you! Yeah I really wish we had time to write vocals, but whatever we do next will have them for
sure. This EP is really just a starting point, a bunch of songs we wrote over several years that we
bunched together.

Just thought I'd say we already have several new songs in the works

What kind of mics did you use to record this?
|
| |
For the drums we used these: http://www.zzounds.com/item--SHUPGDMK6XLR
Guitar was done from cabinet with sm57.

Damn. This sounds fantastic. My post rockish band just recorded our first song and we tried using the sm57 and some condenser mic that I don't know what it was and we wound up using the condenser but neither option ever sounded as good as this.

It's a very hard balance to achieve, especially with the drums. I spent hours tinkering with the sound trying to make it sound just right. A lot of it is from the engineering, which we did completely on our own. If you can get someone to master your bands music it will probably sound much better. Next time we are definitely going to record in a studio.
