One of the first things to ever get me into hardcore music.

Raw energy and raw emotion. This is the band that lay the foundations for anything that can be considered 'hardcore'.

I am definitely checking this one out. I've been hearing about these guys a lot and never had the chance to listen to their stuff. Punk anthologies are always great, and this one seems like a keeper. :DThis Message Edited On 12.15.08

also, the riff in screaming at a wall is one of my favorite moments in punk music ever.

What is that documentary that's about the hardcore scene in the U.S.? Where they bring in Bad Brains, Minor Threat, etc. to discuss the whole scene in the 80s. Was amazingly done, got me into Bad Brains and partly Minor Threat. The problem I got with Minor Threat isn't their style or energy, just their production is horrid. Despite, Bad Brains have a similar problem (partly) they overcame it. Still Minor Threat own, can't deny that.

Review focused abit too much on the history of the band/ the hardcore scene, but was ok.

Album is awesome, and so influential, although it's flaws tend to be overlooked sometimes.

I can't listen to it all in one go though, it gives me a headache.

I don't see why it shouldn't have, given the nature of the release and the samey nature of all the songs here.

They're samey in texture and such but the songwriting is continually clever and they play with such energy that I can't help but enjoy the whole package. I'm glad I finally listened to this, this is everything I want in punk in one tidy package.

American Hardcore is the name of the film. Great flick.

Hands down the greatest hardcore punk band to ever walk the face of the Earth.
