wow well concidering everyone hates yellowcard pretty much i guess im a loner. but i love yellowcard. i thought this album was their best but ive never heard one for the kids but i doubt its better. i loved waiting game but the drum roll in the chorus wrecked the song. 2 weeks from 20 is a funny song though. i love it.

|

Nah, not really, they're just playing different kinds of punk, it's pop-punk, therefore it's more poppy....
|

They actually write good music that I enjoy, but damn, the lyrics are terrible.
Pity.
|

finally heard the album. Sounds petty similar to all their other works... favourite track is the opener, they should just go all instructmental music ....their lyrics are just ahhh...bad

Yellowcard did not ever kill anything. Yellowcard is a different type of rock that no one can explain. It mixes between many varieties of genres and is not a punk killer. I have loved the band "Yellowcard" for 4 years now and I thought thus new album was amazing. Yes it had it's glitches but all albums have these. Stop being so harsh on albums and try finding positive things to talk about. I woul rate this album of theres 4.5 and thats my opinion. Also the drummer in Yellowcard, (Longineu Warren Parsons) I think is the greatest drummer at this time of music. He has got the greatest creativity and strength. I am a drummer and look up to him and ill leave it at this album was Excellent! This Message Edited On 04.16.06

i've never liked this band, but i listened to this album off a friend and it has a lot of solid tracks. i was actually surprised, considering this kind of pop punk rock is far from what i listen to.

lights and sounds has bad lyrics

This isn't half bad, really.

you guys are all fucktards.
rap is music..there is alot of good rap out there, and i bet half of you can't rap for your life so stfu.
ex. immortal technique
even all the mainstream crap thats out there today has some good stuff to it.
ex. dontcha by pussycatdolls has an good melody
a classic is music which is timeless (can be enjoyed 100 or whatnot years from now). that means that you cant say whether it is a classic now dumbasses. yes, i believe this album and yellowcard music in general has potential for becoming a classic.
somebody else said that 2 weeks from 20 was a funny song. wtf?? its about people fucking dying in the iraq war because of our dumb ass president. i dont know how less funny it could be.
you guys are fucked up.

"Yellowcard killed punk. Along with SP. And GC. And NFG. And FOB. And Panic! At The Disco. Tis but a shadow of what it once was."
-MusicOfficial101
Punk isn't dead and bands like yellowcard and the others you mentioned did nothing to kill it. If you want real punk music you just have to look a little harder. If you turn on mtv to find punk music then sir you don't know what punk music is. True punk rock has never been mainstream and probably never will be and that's a good thing cause it keeps ticket prices down

Well I knew there would probably be a lot of comments about me being a fan boy and such, but I guess everyone that posts here has there own fan boy attitude towards one band or another. As far as what music I listen to I just happened to think the album was classic (5). As far as its rank with the rest of music history it stands out but it only hits about a 3 to a 4. This is because people take in the music differently and we all have our own prefrence for what we want to enjoy and hear. And comments in other reviews about the violin being "innovative" also pretain to a large matter of opinon. Any instrument can be innovative if you use it right. They could have a french horn player and people could say thats "innovative". But if it doesn't blend well with the actual style of the music then it won't work. Yellowcard does a great job with the violin use and it obviously adds a more dramatic feel to the band. And most of the main stream music today isn't anything special. A majority of rap music technically isn't music. Its just people speaking a poem to a beat. There should be music and then rap. And don't get me started with pop princesses (ie Hilary Duff). But of course, whatever you want to hear is what you want to hear. I pretained to the guidelines and I think its a classic.
That's good support. However, When writing a review, it should be in the view of all genres and the history of all those genres, not just in say, the genre of pop-punk. You should consider how the album stands in comparison to all genres, or at least similiar genres.

I can honestly say this album surprised me. Can't really say I ever liked Yellowcard all that much. I really wasn't planning on getting this album but my friend had it blairing in his car and I liked it.. To say the least this album is a drastic improvement compared to their previous albums.

I liked it thought it was sweet, but got old fast no replay value at all

I thought that it was a pretty decent album. Favorite song hands down is How I Go. For those of you who don't know, it's Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks who is the 'female voice.'

Your album rating of 5 is very questionable, but for you to say that rap is not music makes you lose more credibility. Beaten on a your head can be considered music. Now you may not like it but it's still music. If you are trying to win over people you should avoid making statements like that.

I hate this album. Ocean Avenue is just so much better than this.

A 5??? I like Yellowcard as much as the next guy, but a 5???This Message Edited On 07.19.07

Yellowcard is probably my favorite band, but not a five for sure. I do agree with the whole rap thing, but it is music, and this is my opinion: I think anyone can talk to a beat, like really, but don't get me wrong...it is music. And to the people who hate Yellowcard so much and think it killed punk, they're really not even punk! There is still some punk, but if anything it died way before Yellowcard. Just because you don't like the band doesn't mean you can say they friggin killed punk! And lastly, people who like the old YC "Where We Stand" album and go on here and say they totally suck now because they sing about girls and such, well bands change and either follow them or don't and don't bash them.
Not a classic, but I overall liked it.
