I think "Archetype" suffers from a little monotony and the fact that there just aren't as many memorable songs as on FF's earlier material (excluding perhaps the debut), but it's definitely made up for by those ideally melodic/harmonic choruses, particularly in the title track and "Corporate Cloning". For me the real highlights are the slower, somewhat tenser likes of "Bite the Hand that Bleeds" and "Human Shields", eclipsing the low(er) quality of the album's first few tracks.

Albums really good in some places and very unremarkable in others.

Where it is good though, it rules pretty hard.
