The two mellowed-out tracks may resemble Flying Lotus a bit, not the majority of this of course. I'm not really familiar with their music (apart from a few tracks)... so I don't know for sure.

You got me. Electronic music is tricky.

Yeah. Nevermind. It definitely recalls Godflesh and NIN.

It made me laugh when he compared breaking the guitar string to breaking the chain in his beat machine. It's a big problem for him and he obviously can't continue the show without it.

This is awesome. Props Greg for reviewing some really good stuff lately. I wish the rest of Sputnik could get up to speed with what's been really good lately.

You don't study engineering and robotics, do you?
Ah, if only I had the smarts (and the patience) for that...

So is this the famous industrial post-death synth tribal dubstep?

So, just listened to this in full and, well, it was different for sure. I liked it, but at the same time, I can't see myself spinning this for any other purpose than as background music while I'm studying or late at nights when I don't want silence, but aren't interested in listening to anything particularly rich in instrumentation.

@Wizard:

Thnaks dude. Much appreciated.

@Metalstyles:

Yeah it's experiemtal stuff totally devoid of hooks. I somehow predicted your reaction would be like that. For me, the album works well enough to be more than just background music.

Well, we'll see what happens with repeated listens. Like I said, I liked it, so I'm still acquiring it to my computer. Maybe it'll develop into something more than background music for me too with time.

Interestingly enough this really has more in common with NIN early EP's, far less with his actual albums.

Yes and not. Abrasive tracks which are the majority of the disc resemble old NIN and Godflesh. But, Below And Above You for example wouldn't be out of place on The Fragile.

This really sounds nothing like NIN tbqh, any era of their career for that matter. And seriously, you can't say you don't love this guy and love industrial music.

And please people, don't drag this into awful dubstep territory.

I knew it wouldn't be for everybody. I agree it's a bit soulless, but that's kind of the point.
