Went back through and listened to this today. Its definitely better than a 2, but definitely worse than a 4.5. Somewhere in the 3-3.5 range. Unfortunately, the three songs they've chosen to promote (Numbers, Cold, Alone) are the worst three songs on the album.

I really like Numbers. The song's so smooth.

Does this have any swearing? I want to jam it at home and my mom won't buy it for me unless it's edited.

I guess I could buy it and only listen to it at night. My mom goes through my stuff, though, so I gotta find a good place to hide it.

I'm open to suggestions.

Adonai lasts 2 minutes too long... I don't know why they thought 2 minutes of ringing would be a good idea

Yeah, it's really a shame they didn't make Links & Waves a full length song... it's sad when the best song on your album is only 1:16 minutes long

I just got through my first play through and I thought it wasn't that bad. So When, The Seer, and Sally Slips are great. I do think it's their weakest album to date, and I did miss the violin, but it's going to have to grow on me.

I did, however, listened to Cold Inside afterwards and missed the lyrical genius of J. Loren.

I think 'So When' & 'Sally Slips' are the highlights. Probably their weakest effort to date (in my opinion). Volume II will forever be there mangum opus.

'links & waves' is definitely my favorite but i like each of the first three tracks

although.. even though that's easily my favorite stretch on the album the subject matter still gets awfully tiring. you've got 'so when' with this "you swore you'd die if you'd leave" and then 'eden' is all like "believing wasn't hard for me because i found you there" and then the entirety of 'links & waves' is about about love lost and it really gets a bit grating. even goodbye to the machine, for all its faults, had a lot more lyrical and musical variety than this
