Why is this band tagged post punk exactly? I mean isn't this known for being hardcore punk? And the two album I've heard (Meat Puppets II and Up on the Sun) aren't really post punk either.

It is the closest thing to accurate sputnik's bare bones tagging system gets with only one tag more or less
Hardcore punk + country + alternative rock should just about cover it though

Spin this one ars, needs more love.
Kim Thayil said it's one of his all time faves.

KILL if it makes you feel any better I've heard II and Up on the Sun a ton of times and really like both
I just decided to check their early work today
And I always rate upon first listen because my rating reflects how I currently feel about a work, which is why it can always change. :P

Those people were out of their fucking skulls on ACID, rather than pissed. Fucking great album. And the best (AKA the next one, "II") was yet to come...
