I liked These Are My Sins more than this. It could grow on me so i'll hold on a rating but for now it's either a 2.5 or a 3.

Oh, and good review btw.

Thanks. I enjoyed the debut more because it was just breakneck paced breakdowns the entire way through. It was better for putting on in the gym or a quick car ride than this one is.

definitely an improvement but the vocalist is still rubbish.
False Prophets is the best song on here.

Shawn's vocals have gotten so much more aggressive since 'These Are My Sins', the whole general sound has.

Really? This isn't really aggressive... It's more like depressing/frustrating.
|

False Prophet is definitely the best.
|

better than the first album but still over flooded with breakdowns. gets boring really fast.
|
| |
and its not even an enjoyable flood of breakdowns like For Today

For Today is one of the worst bands in the scene today. They sound exactly like Emmure would if they loved jesus instead of the cock.

I don't like this, seems like ABR-style boring metalcore.

nah, I like For Today, they are the equivalent of a punch line rapper. And they actually have some sweet riffs and great guitar work

I am not a big fan of this album at all. I really liked the first one but Shawn's vocals on this album are terrible. The phrasing is odd and he's doing more of the scream singing where it's half talking half shouting.
I guess that's what happens when you have not one but TWO producers working on your album.
I agree with the original review in that the vocal phrasing is off at slow tempos but even worse than that the song structure is just not at breakneck as a whole anymore. At least before with all that riffing it sounded fresh now it's just boring.

I just hate stacking vocal tracks for any reason whatsoever. It's obviously one vocalist so any time I hear layered vocals it just pisses me off.
