just finished watching the film. interesting choice for a composer to score something like that given it's essentially just a typical american re-hashing of the "family with lots of drama have a reunion over a wedding or a funeral or something" plotline. à la Royal Tenenbaums or Rachel Getting Married but not remotely as well done.

i didn't see the other movie you mentioned, but i did see royal.

when i first saw it, it was with the whole 'ben stiller movie' schema, like just seeing dodgeball or zoolander for the first time. so, in the context of his other movies, i thought it was pretty awesome. like, a weird, intentionally deadpan flick with luke wilson, and others, as interesting characters.

haven't seen it since, though. so i can't be sure, but i know royal is better than this.

"The Wait" is gorgeous, but the rest seems pretty forgettable for now. This guy's debut is definitely my favorite
