some of the songs on this album are used as metaphors to make a point. for example, the title track is about his insecurities about being a musician, and about how he feels his releasing music to cynical audiences who don't like him makes him a clown etc.

Reincarnation Of A Lovebird is my favourite here. Haitian Fight Song is great but love the vibe on Reincarnation

The artwork is odd yet works somehow

The album art always freaked me out, but it's definitely appropriate to the title track

Reincarnation Of A Lovebird has got such a killer central motif. probably the best track here - t/t drags this down a ton, but the rest is solid

Title track is probably my second favourite here after Haitian Fight Song. It's literally me.

Who is your voiceover?
Lovebird really do be absurdly good, still coming back for mainly that track + ig Fight Song

Idk what it is but Mingus doesn't do it for me as much as he does most people. Like I dig him for sure but I've heard 4 of his albums so far and Let My Children Hear Music is the only one that truly blows me away.

Mingus deniers begone!
Helluva bass player, that guy. Bandleader, too, I 'spose.

this would be in his top 3 if the closer was even close to being on par with the rest
sticks its neck out so far you've gotta love him for it though ig

'sticks its neck out so far you've gotta love him for it'
This. This is it. This is the exact same reason I love/appreciate/cherish BF's FAMILY MAN to an extent that probably (maybe?) outreaches what the content itself would be capable of in a vacuum.
Don't get me started on 'The Dust Blows Forward 'n the Dust Blows Back' *swooooon*
