At least you still love it, Aso =D As I've said, I feel like this takes the depth and atmosphere of Thursday and mixes it with the immediacy of House of Balloons. Thursday is probably my least favorite, although I do still love it.

For people like myself (people who dislike r&b overall), I can see the lack of appeal, but everything Tesfaye's done so far has been undeniably creative and ingeniously produced. What is it you dislike about them, Hep?

I still don't think this is his BEST, but goddamn is this amazing.
This is his best flowing album though. And that's not to say that his other albums didn't flow well, but the transitions on this are just so amazing and seamless. It's like he made this with the intention that people would have to listen to it in full. (should've probably figured as much, considering that there was only one pre-release track, and it was the album's centerpiece.)

excellent review matt. i was wondering whether anyone would review this at all.
damn tesfaye is consistent though. this is my least favorite though, by only a bit. HoB is just... HoB.
