Good review. I was originally one of those people that didn't get all the hubbub about this album, but it eventually grew into a 4. I never thought it would get higher than that, but I never actually listened to the lyrics that closely. Which is weird, 'cause I usually do that with all the albums I listen to. I'll give this a few more listens, and see if my rating goes up.
Either way, "Master of Art" is stunning. Probably one of my favorite songs of all time. The melodies are perfect.

yeah thanks for the input. I feel the same way about it too. the only way I felt I could justify the 5 though was to explain how much I loved the lyrics. I did include a little bit about the music, but for the most part it's not a great review, more of a journal entry or something.

Sorry it took me song long to get back over here, Adrian (okay, I admit it, I somewhat forgot (SORRY)). But yeah, I re-read the review again and I like a lot of what you said, and a lot of it seems pretty fluid too, but I still maintain that it's somewhat meandering. I hate saying "You could have got the same points across using less" because by that logic what's the point of writing anything lengthy? But at times if feels like you repeat yourself. Also, certain word choices don't seem to work well for the point you're trying to get across, such as this: "The lyrical content of this album is, to be blunt, nothing short of genius." I don't think 'blunt' is the word you're looking for here...
At any rate, I appreciate the effort and time you obviously put into this and so I've weighed it and decided to give you a pos. You're improving as a writer and I think that you'll only continue to get better from here on out.

right on, thanks man. It may be the case that I've improved as a writer but I don't think this review is proof of that. I didn't want to just go on and on and on quoting lyrics but it was the only way I knew how to approach reviewing this album that means so much to me. honestly, I probably wouldn't pos this, I think 95% of people just looked at the rating and clicked yes (I had 3 pos's before my first comment even posted....and this thing is a monster)
but yeah, thanks. the next one should be quite a bit more succinct.
