Robby Krieger was a pretty cool guitarist.

Agreed. His flamenco influences had a definite impact on The Doors' sound.

He was kinda eclipsed by Morrison and Manzarek. I think he added an interesting, if frequently forgotten, layer to the music.

Densmore also did some nice work on here.

These guys made music that was far more complex than it seemed.

Yeah, it was kind of expected though because Morrison had such a strong personality and Manzarek was always on the forefront too. Somebody had to be the role player for the band to work.

I definitely agree though that he added a very interesting layer to the music. Densmore was cool too albeit a bit basic.

I believe they were influenced by jazz as much as blues. In the first few minutes of "The End", Densmore has somewhat of a jazzy feel.

These guys had an amazing chemistry.

Indeed Densmore and Manzarek brought a lot of jazz influences. Man, when you think the input and the different influences each member brought...

And yeah they had a very high chemistry proven by the fact that they never changed a member and after Morrison's death they basically quit.

"after Morrison's death they basically quit."

no they didn't. they went the "alice in chains" route and made a couple more records despite an irreplaceable loss.

Alabama Song gives me issues tbh, it's def one of the weaker tracks on here. I think I prefer Morrison Hotel to this.

S'all subjective though. I don't feel the urge to skip anything on MH, whereas here, well.

Need to revisit Strange Days and LA Woman though.
